Custom Kitchens designed, built and installed for Newport Beach — tiny harbour lots with nowhere to stage and salt air on every elevation. Our Los Angeles showroom serves Orange County; Newport projects are scheduled as full-day site visits.
California kitchens tend to open to the outside more completely than anywhere else we build — full sliders, pass-throughs to a terrace, indoor and outdoor cooking treated as one room. That puts interior cabinetry in reach of direct sun and, near the coast, marine air, so finishes and hardware are chosen for the exposure the room actually gets. The architecture is also unusually specific here, and a kitchen that ignores whether the house is Spanish Colonial, mid-century or contemporary will always look imported.
Balboa and Lido lots are famously small, with houses built to the line and streets barely wide enough for a delivery truck. Cabinetry is sized to be walked in, and installs are sequenced tightly because there is nowhere to stage material.
This is a boating and waterfront market, so salt exposure is constant and outdoor living is used year round. Aluminium rather than stainless is the right answer for exterior cabinetry here.
Coastal building rules apply near the water, and anything affecting an exterior should have its approvals confirmed before it is fabricated.
The specification below is the same whether the job is in Newport Beach or anywhere else we work — it is how we build, not what we build for the market.
A custom kitchen is not a better-made version of a stock one — it is a different process. The plan is drawn around how the room is actually used and what appliances are going in it, and the cabinetry is then made to that drawing. Nothing is sized to a catalogue module, which is why a custom kitchen fits a room that stock cabinetry can only approximate.
Cabinet widths follow the plan. There are no filler panels covering the difference between a catalogue size and the wall.
The grain match approved on a sample is the grain match delivered, because the same shop sprays every panel in the run.
Every cutout, clearance and ventilation run comes from the appliance list, so we ask for it at the first meeting rather than at the end.

We work throughout Newport Beach, including Balboa Island, Corona del Mar, Newport Coast, Lido Isle and Harbor Island. The housing here is harbour-front houses on small island lots, larger estates in Newport Coast, and a dense stock of 1970s and 1980s homes being rebuilt, and the cabinetry is specified for it rather than to a national standard.
Our Los Angeles showroom serves Orange County; Newport projects are scheduled as full-day site visits. The showroom is at 506 S Spring St. Bring the plans, or send them over and we will itemise the cabinetry by room before you visit.
Every project is photographed room by room with the materials and the detailing listed, so you can see how a job like this is actually put together before you commit to one.

One shop draws, finishes and installs all of it, which is why the closet matches the kitchen and there is one number to call when something needs adjusting.
