Uniboard is a panel manufacturer based in Quebec. iKitchen specifies its thermally fused laminate and high-pressure laminate across kitchens, closets, vanities and commercial casework — 162 decors in 13 current textures. We are the cabinetmaker; Uniboard makes the panel. What that partnership buys you is a surface engineered in a mill rather than approximated on site, with the texture registered to the printed grain and the edgebanding matched to the face.
Colours shown on screen are approximations. Final selection is confirmed against a physical sample. iKitchen is not affiliated with Uniboard Canada Inc.; decor names and codes are used for identification only.
We can cross-reference a Tafisa, Arauco or Formica code to its closest Uniboard equivalent — then confirm it against a physical sample, because a cross-reference is a starting point, not a guarantee.
CARB Phase 2 / EPA TSCA Title VI and Eco-Certified Composite across the range. ISO 9001:2015 at Val-d'Or and Sayabec. USDA BioPreferred®. Greenguard and Greenguard Gold on HPL. FSC® Chain of Custody is available on request rather than standard. NU Green panels can contribute up to 6 LEED points under NC-2009, or 4 under LEED v4.
Dolomite® and Vellum. The widest availability and the base cost. Dolomite is the medium-reflective workhorse that hides fingerprints and wear; Vellum is the newer matte with subtle texturing that works on both solids and woodgrains.
Aura, Calico, High Gloss, Lyra, Omnia, Rio®, Sequoia and Supermat®. Premium exclusive textures. Non-standard decor and texture combinations carry an upcharge, so it is worth settling the pairing early in design.
Brushed Elm, Nobella and Riviera Oak. The embossing is registered to the print. Each synchronized decor is locked to one texture — there are no optional finishes on this tier, by design.
Oak, walnut, cherry, maple, elm and contemporary looks, from soft matte to deep synchronized relief.

Melamine thermally fused to a particleboard or MDF core, becoming one inseparable panel. Published thickness range runs 1/4" to 1-5/8". Wear resistance is rated at 400 cycles for solids and 125 for prints under NEMA LD 3-2005, with no effect from boiling water or sixty seconds of radiant heat. Our default for closets, modern slab kitchens and commercial casework.
Vertical grade only — this is a door and panel surface, not a countertop. Two formats: VGS-HPL at 2,755 × 1,535 mm and 0.8 mm in the Signature and Synchronized textures, and VGP-HPL at 3,685 × 1,549 mm and 0.7 mm in Dolomite®, Vellum and Supermat®. Greenguard and Greenguard Gold certified.
MDF grades include Excel, Excel+ MR10, Excel+ MAX, NU Green MR50® and NU Green® FR, the last carrying a Class A fire rating and FSC certification. Particleboard comes in 4' and 5' widths; the NU Green 2 grade is ULEF and made from 100% pre-consumer recycled and recovered fibre at ≤0.04 ppm.
A thermal-lacquered surface rather than a pressed laminate: scratch-resistant to Level 3 under NEMA LD 3-2005, gloss level below 2, shipped with a removable protective peel coat. Six colours. If you have ever wiped a matte black door twice a day, this is the specification that ends it.
Eclipse™ anti-fingerprint panels →
Made at Mont-Laurier from 100% recycled and recovered pre-consumer wood fibre, with no added formaldehyde. Passes ASTM D1037 six-cycle accelerated ageing and 24-hour water submersion, and carries a 10-year warranty on the substrate. It must be primed or painted before exterior use, and ground contact is not recommended.
A cross-reference program matching 130+ Uniboard decors to equivalent edgebanding, HPL, 3D laminate mouldings and thermoplastic membrane from partner suppliers. Uniboard does not manufacture edgebanding itself — the match is made through the Integra program, which is why we specify the pairing rather than assume it. Olon is one of the Integra partners we source matched edgebanding and wrapped profiles from.
A laminate decor is a tactile decision. Omnia and Supermat® photograph almost identically and feel nothing alike; a synchronized oak reads flat on a screen and completely different under a window. Come and handle them.
Bring your plans, your flooring sample and the paint colour you are living with. We will pull the Uniboard decors that work against them, check the edgebanding match through Integra®, and confirm availability before anything is specified.
