Nexos is Uniboard's exterior-rated panel, made at Mont-Laurier from 100% recycled and recovered pre-consumer wood fibre. We specify it for covered outdoor millwork and painted exterior casework — the work that lives outside but not in the weather.
Two limitations that decide whether Nexos is right for your project. It must be primed or painted before exterior use — it is a substrate, not a finished surface. Covered lanais and pavilions. Painted soffits, shutters and exterior trim details. Cabinet carcasses under a roof where humidity swings hard but rain does not land. Anywhere you want a stable, paintable panel that will not delaminate the first wet season.
It has passed ASTM D1037 six-cycle accelerated ageing and 24-hour water submersion — the tests that separate an exterior panel from an interior one that has been optimistically specified.
Nexos carries a 10-year warranty on the substrate. It is the only Uniboard product line on this site with a published warranty — we make no warranty claims for TFL, HPL, MDF, particleboard or Eclipse™.

It comes down to exposure. Under a solid roof, with a proper paint system and no contact with the slab, Nexos gives you a paintable panel in any colour and a substrate engineered for the humidity. Fully exposed to sun, rain and salt — a poolside run, an uncovered summer kitchen, anything coastal — we build in marine-grade aluminum with an architectural powder-coat, because no wood-fibre panel wins that argument long-term.
We will tell you which one your project needs at the design stage, and we would rather talk you out of the cheaper substrate than replace it in four years.
