The palette is one colour at three depths — sand plaster, pale oak, bleached linen — which is much harder than it sounds, because anything slightly off reads as a mistake rather than as a contrast.
The fluting is in the plaster rather than the joinery, so the cabinetry had to be flat and quiet to let the wall be the texture.
The oak table is a single long board, and the bench seating along the window is built in, so the dining space works as circulation as well as a table.
