A country kitchen built around a solid oak dresser, with a black range cooker, a stone wall and a double-height ceiling.
Custom Kitchens · Built-Ins & Wall Units · Farmhouse
The dresser is a real one — a freestanding piece in solid oak with a plate rack and open shelving, built rather than bought, and sized to the wall it sits against.
Around it the kitchen is white and plain, so the dresser stays the object in the room. The range sits in a chimney recess with a plain shelf over it rather than a mantel.
The double-height ceiling meant the tall units could go higher than usual; they stop deliberately short of the ceiling line so the room still reads as tall.
