A curved island in fluted Calacatta Viola, with walnut joinery, arched niches and marble bathrooms throughout.
Custom Kitchens · Built-Ins & Wall Units · Bathroom Vanities · Modern
The island is a curve in stone, which is the hardest thing in this project by a distance. The fluting had to be machined around the radius and the veining book-matched across the curve, so the pattern resolves rather than stopping at a seam.
The walnut does the rest of the work. A drawer bank under an arched niche, tall storage in the same timber, and shelving cut into the returns — warm against what would otherwise be a very cool palette of white and marble.
The bathrooms repeat the move at small scale: a marble vanity with an integrated basin cut from the same slab, so there is no join between the top and the bowl.
