A curved island in stone is a fabrication problem before it is a design one. The flutes have to be cut so they stay parallel as the face turns, and the top has to be templated as a single piece so there is no seam on the curve.
Against it, the rest of the kitchen does as little as possible: pale handleless fronts, a dark tall run at one end, and nothing on the worktop.
