The glazed cabinet is an antique-framed piece set into a run of new cream joinery. Making new work sit beside something old without either looking wrong is mostly about matching the reveal, not the finish.
The media wall is marble with a slim cream shelf running under it, so the television has somewhere to sit that is not a box.
Everything else in the room is kept plain and pale so those two elements carry it.
