Concrete Volume Apartment

The kitchen is built as a freestanding volume rather than as a run along a wall — a concrete-toned block containing the appliances and the storage, sitting in the middle of the plan with circulation all round it.

That means every face is finished, including the one facing the hall, and the services had to come up through the floor rather than along a wall.

Elsewhere the apartment is warm: herringbone parquet, a walnut vanity, and a black marble bathroom as the one dark room.
