Walk-In Closets in The Hamptons

Walk-In Closets designed, built and installed for The Hamptons — an off-season build calendar with a hard Memorial Day deadline. Our New York showroom in Brooklyn serves the East End; site visits are scheduled as full days.

What changes here

Walk-In Closets in The Hamptons, specifically.

New York closets are won by inches. In a pre-war apartment the dressing room is frequently a converted bedroom or a carved-out corner, and the difference between a closet that works and one that does not is a few inches of depth found by planning rather than by wishing. Everything is measured on site, corners are made to work rather than left dead, and the joinery is engineered to be carried in through a pre-war corridor and a lift. Full-height is almost always right here, because floor area is the thing you do not have.

The houses are coastal and frequently closed for months. Salt air, damp and long unheated periods all argue for moisture-stable cores, ventilated joinery and hardware chosen for the environment.

The villages have historic districts and active review boards. Anything affecting an exterior needs approval before fabrication, and out here that timeline is genuinely long.

This is a seasonal market with a hard calendar. Work happens off-season, and the deadline is not a date on a schedule — it is Memorial Day. Everything is planned backwards from that.

How we build it

The part that does not change.

None of this changes by location. It is the standard every walk-in closet leaves the shop to, The Hamptons included.

A closet is a storage problem with a fixed inventory: a specific number of long-hanging pieces, short-hanging pieces, folded items, shoes and bags. Designed against that inventory it works for years. Designed as an even grid of rails and shelves it is full within a season, which is why the first conversation is a count rather than a drawing.

Lit inside the joinery

Lighting sits in the shelving and behind the hanging rails, so what you are looking at is lit rather than shadowed by your own body.

Built to be used daily

Soft-close throughout, drawers rather than doors at low level, and hardware rated for the number of cycles a dressing room actually sees.

Planned against a real inventory

We start from what actually has to go in — long, short, folded, shoes, bags — rather than filling the room with equal shelves.

Where we work

Serving The Hamptons

We work throughout The Hamptons, including East Hampton, Southampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and Montauk. The housing here is shingle-style houses, modern new builds, and historic village properties under real review, and the cabinetry is specified for it rather than to a national standard.

Our New York showroom in Brooklyn serves the East End; site visits are scheduled as full days. The showroom is at 1200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn. Come and see the materials in person, or send the drawings and we will price the job room by room.

Everything else we make in The Hamptons

The rest of the house.

One shop draws, finishes and installs all of it, which is why the closet matches the kitchen and there is one number to call when something needs adjusting.
