The Palm Beaches have the oldest and the most protected housing on this coast, and that shapes the kitchen more than the weather does. A 1920s Mediterranean house in a historic district, a country-club house under architectural review and an oceanfront condominium each come with their own constraints on what can be changed and when. The cabinetry is detailed to sit with what the house already is. Humidity and salt still set the construction — stable cores, sealed edges, hardware chosen for the environment.
El Cid and Flamingo Park are historic districts with real character in the interior joinery — arched openings, plaster returns, original tile. New cabinetry there is detailed to sit with what is already in the house rather than to override it.
Those houses are also rarely square. Scribe allowances are drawn in from the start, and tall runs are templated on site rather than trusted to the plan.
Downtown towers bring the usual high-rise logistics: certificates of insurance, booked service elevators, protected corridors and a delivery that has to fit a lift car.
None of this changes by location. It is the standard every custom kitchen leaves the shop to, West Palm Beach included.
A custom kitchen is not a better-made version of a stock one — it is a different process. The plan is drawn around how the room is actually used and what appliances are going in it, and the cabinetry is then made to that drawing. Nothing is sized to a catalogue module, which is why a custom kitchen fits a room that stock cabinetry can only approximate.
Cabinet widths follow the plan. There are no filler panels covering the difference between a catalogue size and the wall.
The grain match approved on a sample is the grain match delivered, because the same shop sprays every panel in the run.
Every cutout, clearance and ventilation run comes from the appliance list, so we ask for it at the first meeting rather than at the end.
