Reception is the one piece of furniture in the building that every visitor sees and most of them stand at. It is also almost never a catalogue item — the wall behind it, the logo on it and the way people approach it are different in every building.
We draw reception as joinery rather than furniture: built to the wall, to the ceiling condition and to the approach. Illuminated reveals, solid-surface and stone transaction tops, timber and lacquer fronts, and a back-of-desk that actually holds what the person working there needs to reach.
A transaction counter has a lower accessible section, and where it lands relative to the approach path is a design decision, not an afterthought. We draw it in from the first sketch.
