Walk-In Closets in Mississauga

Walk-In Closets designed, built and installed for Mississauga — established lots being rebuilt, and 1980s houses with walls that want to come out. Our Toronto showroom on Dundas Street West is a short run east.

What changes here

Walk-In Closets in Mississauga, specifically.

An Ontario closet has to hold a full winter as well as a full summer, and that is a much bigger inventory than a warm-climate market: heavy coats, boots, layers and sports gear that all need somewhere to live for half the year. Planning against that seasonal double-inventory is the whole job, and it usually means more long-hanging than a Florida closet and dedicated deep storage for what is out of season.

The 1980s stock has good bones and dated planning — closed kitchens, small windows to the back garden, and a family room separated by a wall that usually wants to go.

Ontario's humidity swing between a heated winter and a humid summer is the same here as in the city, and timber is specified with that in mind.

Lorne Park and Mineola have generous lots and a strong tear-down-and-rebuild trend, so a lot of the work is new construction where the cabinetry can be drawn before the services are fixed.

How we build it

Walk-In Closets, the way we make them.

This is the constant. Wherever the job is, a walk-in closet from us is put together this way.

A closet is a storage problem with a fixed inventory: a specific number of long-hanging pieces, short-hanging pieces, folded items, shoes and bags. Designed against that inventory it works for years. Designed as an even grid of rails and shelves it is full within a season, which is why the first conversation is a count rather than a drawing.

Planned against a real inventory

We start from what actually has to go in — long, short, folded, shoes, bags — rather than filling the room with equal shelves.

Lit inside the joinery

Lighting sits in the shelving and behind the hanging rails, so what you are looking at is lit rather than shadowed by your own body.

Built to be used daily

Soft-close throughout, drawers rather than doors at low level, and hardware rated for the number of cycles a dressing room actually sees.

Where we work

Serving Mississauga

We work throughout Mississauga, including Lorne Park, Mineola, Port Credit, Erin Mills and Streetsville. The housing here is large post-war and 1980s family houses in the established neighbourhoods, plus a growing condominium core, and the cabinetry is specified for it rather than to a national standard.

Our Toronto showroom on Dundas Street West is a short run east. The showroom is at 2967 Dundas Street West. Visit when it suits, or start by sending the plans and we will come back with a number per room.

Everything else we make in Mississauga

The rest of the house.

One shop draws, finishes and installs all of it, which is why the closet matches the kitchen and there is one number to call when something needs adjusting.
