Outdoor Kitchens designed, built and installed for Westchester — big formal houses where the job is a kitchen, a pantry, a mudroom and a laundry. Our New York showroom in Brooklyn serves the county; most projects there are drawn on site.
An outdoor kitchen in New York has to survive a freeze rather than a salt spray, and that is a different specification. Water that gets into a cabinet and then freezes will do more damage in one winter than a decade of summer use, so drainage and sealing matter more here than anywhere. Marine-grade aluminium handles the freeze-thaw cycle without the corrosion that appears on lesser materials at the fixings, and the run is designed so it can be shut down properly for the season.
Westchester houses are big and formal, and the kitchen is usually the room that was last to be modernised. A butler's pantry, a mudroom and a real laundry are as much a part of the brief as the kitchen itself — the cabinetry job is rarely one room.
Four real seasons mean genuine humidity swings between summer and a heated winter. Solid timber elements are sized and detailed to move, because they will.
Older houses here often have plaster over lath, uneven floors and radiators in inconvenient places. Every one of those affects how a run is set out.
The specification below is the same whether the job is in Westchester or anywhere else we work — it is how we build, not what we build for the market.
Outdoor cabinetry is a materials problem before it is a design one. Sun, rain, humidity and — near any coast — salt will destroy an indoor cabinet finished for an indoor life. We build outdoor kitchens in marine-grade aluminium with 304 stainless hardware, sealed doors and drawers, and integrated drainage, because that is what survives.
Twice as thick as most stainless cabinetry on the market and lighter, which also makes it easier to deliver and install.
Door slides, hinges, pulls and levelling legs are all outdoor grade, because the hardware fails long before the box does.
Doors and drawers are sealed with integrated drainage, so water that gets in has somewhere to go.

We work throughout Westchester, including Scarsdale, Rye, Bronxville, Chappaqua and Larchmont. The housing here is large colonials and Tudors on generous lots, many of them pre-war and on their third or fourth kitchen, and the cabinetry is specified for it rather than to a national standard.
Our New York showroom in Brooklyn serves the county; most projects there are drawn on site. The showroom is at 1200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn. Visit when it suits, or start by sending the plans and we will come back with a number per room.
Every project is photographed room by room with the materials and the detailing listed, so you can see how a job like this is actually put together before you commit to one.

One shop draws, finishes and installs all of it, which is why the closet matches the kitchen and there is one number to call when something needs adjusting.
