Southwest Florida houses are built around the view, which means glass on the water side and very few walls to work with. Built-ins here have to earn a wall rather than fill one, and they are frequently doing double duty — storage, a media wall and a bar in a single run. Humidity applies to all of it: stable cores, and ventilation in anything closed that holds something worth protecting.
Gulf-front properties take direct salt exposure and, in the flood zone, elevation requirements that affect how the ground floor is built and finished. Cabinetry there is specified with the flood construction rules in mind.
Old Naples lots are small and the streets are narrow, with mature landscaping right up to the kerb. Deliveries are planned small.
Naples is a seasonal market and that shapes the whole programme. A great deal of work is scheduled to happen while the house is empty over the summer, which is an advantage — but it means the specification has to be finished and approved before the owners leave, not while they are away.
The local detail changes from job to job. This part does not.

A media wall, a library, a bar, a window seat, a home office — each one turns an awkward wall or an unused alcove into something the room needs, and each one has to be set out to the architecture rather than dropped in front of it.
Shelf spacing, panel widths and reveals are drawn to the wall's real dimensions and to what is going on the shelves.
Power, data, ventilation and cable routes are designed into the joinery, not chased in afterwards.
In an older property the profiles are matched to what is already there; in a contemporary one the reveals do the work instead.
