Walk-In Closets in Fort Lauderdale

Walk-In Closets designed, built and installed for Fort Lauderdale — a city where the salt air, the canal-front lots and the condo boards all shape the specification. Our Fort Lauderdale showroom is on East Sunrise Boulevard, so most of the city is inside fifteen minutes.

What changes here

Walk-In Closets in Fort Lauderdale, specifically.

A Broward closet is a humidity problem before it is a storage one. A closed room full of fabric, in a house that is air-conditioned in patches and sometimes empty for weeks, is exactly where damp and musty air settle. We ventilate the joinery and keep backs clear of exterior walls. The inventory is also different from a northern market — very little coat storage, a great deal of short-hanging, and shoes and bags dominating the plan.

The finger isles have narrow streets and short driveways. Deliveries are planned around a small truck and a short carry, and tall units are sized so they can turn at the front door.

Beachfront buildings run service-elevator bookings and certificates of insurance. We schedule the install against the building's window rather than the other way round.

Almost every Las Olas and Rio Vista property is on a canal, which means salt air reaches the cabinetry every day of the year. Interior boxes still need moisture-stable cores, and any outdoor run has to be a marine-grade material rather than a treated indoor one.

How we build it

Walk-In Closets, the way we make them.

This is the constant. Wherever the job is, a walk-in closet from us is put together this way.

A closet is a storage problem with a fixed inventory: a specific number of long-hanging pieces, short-hanging pieces, folded items, shoes and bags. Designed against that inventory it works for years. Designed as an even grid of rails and shelves it is full within a season, which is why the first conversation is a count rather than a drawing.

Planned against a real inventory

We start from what actually has to go in — long, short, folded, shoes, bags — rather than filling the room with equal shelves.

Lit inside the joinery

Lighting sits in the shelving and behind the hanging rails, so what you are looking at is lit rather than shadowed by your own body.

Built to be used daily

Soft-close throughout, drawers rather than doors at low level, and hardware rated for the number of cycles a dressing room actually sees.

Where we work

Serving Fort Lauderdale

We work throughout Fort Lauderdale, including Las Olas Isles, Rio Vista, Coral Ridge, Victoria Park and Harbor Beach. The housing here is waterfront houses on the finger isles, mid-century homes being taken back to the studs, and new towers along the beach, and the cabinetry is specified for it rather than to a national standard.

Our Fort Lauderdale showroom is at 617 East Sunrise Blvd. Bring the plans, or send them over and we will itemise the cabinetry by room before you visit.
