Depth without blackness. The brown here has tone enough to ground a room and figure enough — linear passages breaking into cathedrals — to stay interesting across a large surface. In SYNCRON the log texture is registered to the grain, so a hand finds figure where the eye does; LUXE takes the same design the other way and glosses it. Islands, built-in libraries and the run of a butler's pantry all suit it.
